Critics Review:

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 |At the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, Peter Debruge of Variety applauded the movie and its desire: "The weights to make a monster four-quadrant immensity must be gigantic, but then, similar to his unflappable legend Hiccup, How to Train Your Dragon 2 essayist director Dean DeBlois has won, serving up DreamWorks Animation's most grounded continuation yet—one that inhales new fire into the establishment, rather than just repeating the first. More daring than Brave, more fun than Frozen, and more candidly fulfilling than such huge numbers of its real to life partners, Dragon conveys. Also, beneficial thing, too, since DWA frantically needs another toon to cross the half-billion-dollar edge.

Survey aggregator Rotten Tomatoes gave the film a "confirmed crisp" score of 92% dependent on audits from 178 pundits, with a normal rating of 7.72/10. The site's basic agreement states: "Energizing, candidly thunderous, and delightfully vivified, How to Train Your Dragon 2 expands on its forerunner's victories simply the way a continuation should."[34] Metacritic gave the film a score of 76/100 dependent on surveys from 39 pundits, designating "for the most part good audits".
